Speeding Ticket

A speeding ticket is a citation issued by law enforcement officials to drivers who are found to be traveling in excess of the posted speed limit. Speeding tickets are given when police officers observe a driver going above the speed limit in a marked or unmarked car, and they are usually given at least two seconds after the officer has determined that the driver is exceeding the speed limit. A speeding ticket is not an arrest, but it is a civil infraction and is often accompanied by a fine. The amount of the fine will depend on the jurisdiction and the circumstances surrounding the violation.
